Sometimes, owning and running a small business can be a competitive affair. It is often the case that there are numerous dental practices located in fairly close proximity, giving patients plenty of choice over who they choose to entrust their care to. This, of course, means that you have to do your best to attract the type of patients you want, in order to ensure they don’t visit the competition instead.

There are many ways that you can do this, including offering the type of treatments that people really want, having the best staff on your team, and ensuring your premises are comfortable and inviting to encourage patients to stick with you. In addition, you need to tell prospective patients all about your merits through various marketing channels such as social media.

Learn from others

I always advise my clients to know what their competition are doing on their social media accounts. The trick is not to copy – remember that your prospective patients may already be following your competition so copying will probably look very obvious –  just keep a watchful eye out to help you gather useful information.

Gaining the knowledge of what offers and events they may be running, and learning from knowing what posts are working for them, and what ones aren’t can be extremely useful. From this you can form a basis for how you approach your own social media marketing, using hindsight from your competition to give you a bit of a headstart.
