I’ve noticed lately that ‘social media influencer’ seems to have become a legitimate job title. Not only does this say a lot about the world we currently live in, it also speaks volumes about the power that social media can really have. With so many active users, it has become part and parcel of our everyday lives, so it’s unsurprising really that these innovative young people have discovered a means of earning by doing something they love.

If there are people out there who are making real money through this medium, there must be ways for other businesses to tap into this phenomenon, too. But how can you harness that power without being paid to sell protein powder or coconut oil? Well, for starters, you can try Facebook advertising.

Facebook advertising

Facebook advertising can be extremely effective for building followers or encouraging people to click through to your website. One of the best things about it is the ability to target the exact audience you want to reach; thanks to the massive amount o data it holds, Facebook allows you focus on a specific demographic by age, location, interests, gender, etc.

Additionally, advertising on Facebook is incredibly cost effective, so if your marketing budget is quite modest this can be a great way to get started. You set your own limits on spend, making it very easy to manage your outgoings. On top of this, you’re also able to view insights on how well your advert performed. This data gives you the knowledge to be able to tweak your options for future posts in order to make them more effective.

Many people are wary of using Facebook advertising for fear that their posts will get lost in the clutter of people’s feeds, but my advice here is to ensure you create the type of ad that will get you noticed. Think about the things that make you stop scrolling… it’s usually a video or an image that will capture your attention and make you read more. My top tip is to always use effective media like this in your own posts!
